UNM Graduate Student Institutional Assessment

The Education and Skills (E&S) Online is an assessment tool designed to provide individual-level results that are linked to the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) Survey of Adult Skills (PIAAC). This standardized cognitive assessment measures workforce-readiness skills associated with literacy, numeracy, reading and problem solving in technology-rich environments. Individual-level results are benchmarked against the national and international results from the OECD Survey of Adult Skills (PIAAC).

In order to demonstrate UNM’s impact on students’ educational attainment and workforce-readiness, the literacy, numeracy, reading and problem solving in technology-rich environments test modules of the Education and Skills (E&S) Online assessment are administered during the spring semester to a sample of enrolled graduate students who also received their undergraduate degree at UNM.

The literacy, numeracy, reading and problem solving in technology-rich environments test modules can be completed online at any location on-campus and/or off-campus. It takes approximately 90 minutes to complete all four test modules. Graduate students will be given approximately four weeks to complete all four test modules.

In order to receive an access code to the Education and Skills (E&S) Online assessment, you must click here to complete the preregistration survey. The Spring 2017 deadline for preregistration is March 3rd.

In addition to completing the E&S Online assessment, the Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) and Dean of Students Office (DoS) have developed online surveys to garner feedback from graduate students. Their goal is to understand what types of academic support graduate students value, use, and why. Your comments and feedback about graduate support services will help these academic support units improve and/or modify their services. Please take 15-20 minutes to share your thoughts about graduate student support at UNM. To complete the CTL's survey, please click here. To complete the DoS' survey, please click here.
